OUR PROGRAMS

 



Our Youth Reading Program is a community-based literacy program that creates child-friendly reading spaces in Barbershops/Hair Salon for boys and girls ages 4-10.

 

It leverages the cultural significance of shops in high minority communities to help kids identify as readers and increase vocabulary.

 

This innovative approach connects men, woman and families to a childs early reading experiences. It also improves kid’s access to culturally relevant, age appropriate, and gender responsive children’s books while increasing the amount of time kids read for fun.
